Condolence From: Theresa Ramsey
Condolence: I loved getting to know Dorothy at the nursing home. My mama (Clara Dean Farmer) came there in October 2014 so we had many suppers together in the dining hall. It was such a privilege to know her; I so enjoyed our chats. I watched her comfort a long-time friend having difficult times during her last days. I was amused by her banter with other table mates, particularly a son there visiting a loved one. We discussed my mom's dementia at times and she expressed sympathy and was very caring. It was fun to see her and her special group of friends enjoying a nice day on the porch. And those fingernails...quite a lady! Dorothy was a role model that we all should take lessons from on how to choose to live. I loved that she was spunky and clear minded until her last days. I miss her already but know that she had 101 1/2 pretty good years until the last six months that made things more difficult. She was a real blessing. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Saint Peter is getting an ice cube for her hot tea up in heaven! At 102, she was the oldest person I knew. I was proud to call her my friend...
