Zebulon "Zeb" Bloomfield Mehaffey, 93, of Franklin, NC, went to be with Jesus, Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Zeb was born to the late Richard Paul and Nellie Reid Mehaffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen and "John D" Mehaffey; sister, Carolyn Mehaffey; and great-great grandchild Koa Highhouse. He was a retired teacher. He enjoyed teaching, baseball, fellowship with his church, and most of all spending time with his family. He loved working and teaching his grandchildren about life on the farm.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ann Blaine Mehaffey; sons, Major Richard Mehaffey (Debra), Mark Mehaffey; daughter, Angela Ledford (Mike); grandchildren, Commander Scott Mehaffey (Cortney), JoAnna Lipari (Antonio), Kris Eldred (Tyler), Lindsay Highhouse, Matthew Ledford (Chelsea), Luke Ledford (Kaitlyn), Levi Ledford (Emileigh), Noah Ledford (Rachel); great grandchildren, Everly, Corbin and River Mehaffey, Zeb and Zeke Ledford, Allegra, Rafael, Luca Lipari, Jacob Penley, Melissa Highhouse, Ethan Highhouse, Rhodes Ledford, and sister, Florence Faulkner. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 30, at 3pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm, one hour prior to the service. Rev. Guy Duvall and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridge Crest Baptist Church Cemetery.
