William James “Jim” Lopes, 70, of Franklin passed away December 6, 2025
Jim was born in Florida to the late William Julius and Edna Spires Lopes. Jim worked as an auto body technician for over 35 years. He was also a Boy Scout leader for over 20 years. Jim was very creative, fabricating many of his ideas into reality. He could fix anything and was always trying to think of ideas to solve problems for his family and friends. Jim loved the outdoors, loved to fish and enjoyed camping. Most of all Jim loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife; Patricia Williams Lopes, son, Preston Lopes and stepchildren; Stephanie Tice, Stephen Tice, and Elizabeth Ewing (Brandon); sisters, Deborah Jacobs, Glenda Kelly, and Stephanie Stiles (Chris). Also surviving are six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
