Wanda Cantrell Jones, 85, of Franklin, NC, gained her wings on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Wanda was a native of Macon County and was born to the late Roy and Hazel Matlock Cantrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Cantrell and sister, Bertha Alfredson. She drove a school bus for 7 years and was a substitute teacher. She worked at Whitley Products for 27 years before retiring. She was a member of Cowee Baptist Church. She liked to camp, and loved to play in the fire, so you had to bring lots of wood. She is going to be missed by all that knew her and loved her, especially her family.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Jones; children, Teresa Smith, Ronnie Jones (Kathy), Michele Norton (Chris); grandchildren, Stephanie McConnell (Kevin), Jason Smith (Kristen), Dereck Jones (Jessica), Ashley Gibbs (Jeremy), Michael Norton (Megan), Crystal Allen (Dakota); great grandchildren, Brennen McConnell, Jackson Smith, Mia Aurigemma, Andrew Aurigemma, Peyton Jones, Alvia Gibbs, Kaleb Gibbs, Kellon Gibbs; great great grandchild, Blakelyn Gibbs; sister, Patsy Smith; sister in law, Betty Ann Cantrell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7th from 11am-12pm at Cowee Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 12pm following the visitation. Reverends Jason Smith, Ronnie Branson, and Richard Salmonson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
