Obituary
Walter Lee Shelton, 74, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Walter was born in Jackson County, NC to the late John and Grace Moore Shelton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Patrick Shelton and sister, Nell Shelton. He lived in the Western North Carolina mountains his whole life. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a home painter and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Darby, son, Shawn Shelton; grandchildren, Tyler Shelton, Kyle Shelton (Callie), Ansley Shelton, Peyton Shelton, Tristan Shelton; and two great grandchildren, Lane Shelton and Charlotte Shelton.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21st from 5-6 pm at Macon Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 6pm following the visitation.
