Obituary

Vincent “Vince” Duane Honeycutt, age 69, passed away on March 23, 2026, at his residence. He was born on August 26, 1956, in Miami, Florida, to Charles Honeycutt and Milly Vaughn Honeycutt.

Vince lived a full and spirited life, shaped by his love of sports, adventure, and the people closest to him. Before settling in Franklin, North Carolina, he made his home in several places he grew to love Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia each chapter adding to the story of a life lived with passion and energy.

A natural athlete, Vince excelled in nearly anything he tried. He was a professional bowler, a competitive cornhole player, an avid baseball and softball player, a golfer, and a strong swimmer. His competitive spirit was matched only by his enthusiasm; whether he was on the lanes, the field, or the course, he brought joy, humor, and determination to every game.

Vince also loved music and could often be found singing karaoke with the same gusto he brought to sports. He enjoyed gambling and sports betting, always ready with a prediction or a friendly wager. A true survivalist at heart, he embraced challenges and lived with a sense of readiness and resilience.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Honeycutt, and his wife, Linda Honeycutt.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Milly Honeycutt; his daughter, Nicole Drooger (Jamie); his sister, Nancy Kroeger; his nephew, Jason Kroeger (Tanya); and his niece, Becky Jones (Brian). Each carries forward a piece of his humor, strength, and spirit.

At this time, no formal services are planned for Mr. Honeycutt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army C/O ARC Department 1424 NE Expressway NE Atlanta, Ga 30329 Georgia, an organization meaningful to the family.
