Van Edward Holland, 71, of Franklin, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Vernon Luther Holland and Ila Mae Potts Holland. Van was a US Army veteran. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf and mini-golf, loved going to car shows, going to the beach and he always enjoyed a good meal with family. He attended Franklin Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Rebekah "Becky" Stiles Holland; five children, Joel Holland and wife Laura, Daryl Holland and wife Misty, Rita Holland Knepp and husband Michael; Deanna Holland Nichols and husband Chuck and Aimee Holland and fiancé James Pader; eight brothers and sisters, Otela Bolick and husband Bobby, Carol Ashe and husband Roy, Arbutus Bolick and husband Larry, Mary Sue Sanders and husband Ray, Alice Taylor and husband Perry, Keith Holland, Alvin Holland and wife Sharon, and Philip Holland and wife Elaine; ten grandchildren; Justin Holland, Paige Nichols, Adrienne Holland, Brandon Holland, Jadon Knepp, Keegan Knepp, Ian Knepp, Gracie Holland, Ella Pader and Autumn Pader and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26th at Franklin Church of God. Rev. Thurman Jenkins, Rev. Jim Cannon and Rev. Hank Conner will officiate. Burial will be in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 25th at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Banks, David Holland, Bryant Phillips, Turner Conley, Chris Stiles, Mike Harden, Lyman Holland and Kevin Holland.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
