Linda "Suzanne" Magalis, 77, of Sapphire, NC, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 24, 2025.
Suzanne was born in Havre De Crace, Maryland, to the late William and Gladys Andrews Skipper. She earned a Bachelor of Art degree from UNCW. She was a teacher and real estate agent. Suzanne was an animal lover and volunteered with several no kill shelters including Friends For Life. She spent years registered with NC as a wildlife rehabilitator saving thousands of orphaned and injured animals and taking calls from people needing advice.
Suzanne is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Mike, one sister, Debby Skipper Daniels and her husband Karl of Kitty Hawk, NC, her nephew Shawn Daniels also of Kitty Hawk, NC. On Mikes side of the family, she is survived by Mary Beth Arce and her husband Michael, of Steamboat Springs, Co. Also, Daniel Magalis and his wife Debby of East Hartford, CT.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 29th, from 11-11:30am, at Macon Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Highlands/Cashiers Animal Shelter.
The family wishes to thank Annette Rogers for her loving care and love to Suzanne during 18 years of Alzheimer's. Also, thanks to the fine people at Four Seasons Hospice for several years of wonderful care for Suzanne.
