Stanley Scruggs, 83, of Franklin went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2023. Mr. Scruggs was born in Macon County on September 3, 1940, to the late Willie and Addie Scruggs.
He was a member of Burgess Chapel. Stanley worked as a hospital orderly in in Miami, Florida, Youngstown, Ohio, and Memorial Mission Hospital, in Asheville. His last job was working at Jim Brown Chrysler in the Service department. He loved watching Jeopardy, playing checkers, in which he was a champion player. He loved to eat with family and friends and his favorite food was chicken and potatoes. Stanley loved to draw and paint even up until the time of his death. He liked watching the Atlanta Braves but most of all he was an avid basketball fan and a loyal fan of the Golden State Warriors.
He is survived by one daughter, Delores Scruggs; two sons Bradon Scruggs and Stanford Scruggs, and a son in love, Lindsey Owens; two sisters Synethia Owens and Claudette Burston and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Powell Scruggs. Sisters; Geneva Scruggs, Josephine Bryson and Betty Parrish. Brothers; Charlen Scruggs, Walt "Little Willie" Scruggs, Carl Scruggs, and Eddie Scruggs.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00am at the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Reverend Mozart Molière officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am, prior to the service.
