Shawn Sloan Peterson, 66, of Franklin NC, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Shawn was born in Macon County to the late Richard and Diane Clark Sloan. She was a member of Trinity Assembly and loved God, and his many blessings he had bestowed upon her. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, playing with her grandkids and her pets. She was a wonderful and loving, mother, grandma, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Peterson; granddaughters, Alexa Vannucci and Alia Curley (Hunter Johnston); grandson; Jesus Cortes Ayala, Jr.; and brothers, Rick Sloan and Jon Sloan.

The family will have a gathering on Monday, November 17th from 1-3pm at Macon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Parkinsons Foundation.
