Sadie C. Matthewson, 98, of Franklin, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008.

A native of Hellam Township, York County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harry Eppley and Mary Ann Brenneman Eppley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William M Humer, George Reinfried and Samuel Matthewson, sister Rosa Eppley Wallick, brothers, Granville "Red" Eppley, Sylvester "Os" Eppley, Edward Eppley and Eugene Eppley, a daughter, Savilla Humer Smith, a son Clyde Humer, and two grandsons, Arthur Carter, III and William M Carter. Sadie was the last living member of her immediate family. She was a factory worker for Cole Steel and a volunteer at the Salvation Army in York, PA. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in York County, PA.

Surviving are two children, Patricia A. Carter and husband Art of Otto, and Helen E. Hibner of York, PA; granddaughter, Vickie Tallent of Otto; great grandsons, Don Kostelec and wife Carrie of Candler, and B. R. Tallent and wife Michelle of Otto; and four great-great grandchildren and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren in other areas of the country.
