Ruth Nolen Williams of Franklin, NC, was welcomed to Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 11, 2024.
She was born April 6, 1948, Carolyn Ruth Nolen to the late Horace and Ruth Nolen of Franklin. She was called RuRu by her family and friends. She was married to the late Jim Alfred Williams who was the love of her life for 37 years. Ruth and Jim loved antiques, and everyone who met her knew her love of jewelry. She was employed by Internal Revenue in Atlanta for almost 30 years, and after retiring became the caregiver for both of her parents, then her husband, and her dear cousin JoAnn Wilhide. Her goal in life was to tell everyone she knew about who she called her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Mountain Park Baptist Church in Lilburn, GA for many years, and accompanied her parents to Franklin Presbyterian Church when she came back to Franklin to care for them. She loved to sing and when she was in the nursing home many of the staff and patients told us they were blessed when they would go by her room and hear her singing hymns.
Ruth is survived by her brother Thomas Nolen (Betsy), her niece Angela Hoover (Bryan) and great nieces Molly and Emily Hoover all of Loganville, GA, and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 15, at 2 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior, from 1-2 pm. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
