Ruby Mae Jenkins Cisneros, age 77, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024.

Ruby was born in Franklin, North Carolina, the only daughter of eight children, to the late William H. Jenkins and Ruby Gregory Jenkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joey Shook; and seven of her brothers.
Being the oldest of seven younger brothers, Ruby began caring for others at an early age. That care of love for children carried over into her adult years, leading her and her husband to foster 153 children throughout their marriage. Ruby had a heart for underserved children, especially those with special needs.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Pedro Cisneros; their six children, Amber Cisneros, Wendy Grondahl, John Cisneros, Isabella Cisneros, Jaydon Cisneros, and Adam Hardagree; brother, Rick Jenkins; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and twelve nieces and nephews.

Ruby wishes were for her remains to be scattered along with her son's. No services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
