Obituary
Rose Hopkins Stiles, 91, of Franklin, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
Rose was born in Rabun County, GA, the daughter of the late Raleigh and Gordia Cabe Hopkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Monroe Stiles; an infant boy, "Baby Stiles"; foster parents, Ed and Bessie Bradley; and siblings, Odell Hopkins, Frances Hopkins, Frankie Hopkins and David Cabe. Rose always worked hard, she and her husband, Charles owned a dairy and later she went and obtained her Real Estate and Brokers License. She loved square dancing, fishing, mowing, gardening, kayaking, and playing cards. But what she loved most was time spent with family and friends.
Rose is survived by two daughters, Sally Ray of Moreland, GA, and Kim Corbin (Shane) of Franklin, NC; four grandchildren, Jason Ray (Christina), Jake Corbin (Teia), Kaylee Marr (John), and Kaycee Johnson (Damon); ten great grandchildren, Andrew Ray, Caroline Ray, Savannah Ray, Memphis Corbin, Charlie Rose Corbin, Lucy Corbin, Trevor Marr, J.R. Marr, Shane Marr; and soon to be baby Johnson. She is also survived by a sister, Opal Tilley of Myrtle Beach, SC; a foster sister, Lotus Bradley Plott of Kodak, TN; her very special friend and "partner in crime", Della Womack; caregivers, Gale Jenkins, and Terri Morrow, and numerous other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, November 19 at 2pm in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Special remarks will be given by her grandsons, Jason Ray and Jake Corbin, with graveside rites by Rev. Keith Ashe.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Rush cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Corbin, Jake Corbin, Memphis Corbin, Andrew Ray, Jason Ray, John Marr, and Damon Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Men's Challenge of the Smokies, 336 Living Hope Way, Franklin, NC 28734.
