Ronald Allen Smith, age 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 30, 2024 after a period of declining health.

Ron was born in Darlington, South Carolina to the late Emory Smith and Agnes Lloyd Smith. As an insurance agent, he was well known throughout the Darlington and Florence communities where he helped many families prepare for their time of need.

When he wasn't working, Ron could be found in front of his television watching whatever sport was in season. However, Ron never missed watching the Boston Red Sox. Several years ago, he was able to travel to Fenway Park and watch them play in person, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

In his later years, Ron was bedridden and unable to attend church. Therefore, he was appreciative of visits and prayers from the Biltmore Church- Franklin Campus church family.

Ron is survived by his long time life-partner, Kathy Hook of Franklin; brother, Jim Smith and wife, Rhett of Florence, South Carolina; brother, Wayne Smith of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and sister, Kay Campbell and husband, Dean of Johnston, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kathy to assist with medical and final expenses.
