Obituary
Rodney Stephen Spivey, 76, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023.
Rodney was the son of the late Preston and Margarette McCracken Spivey. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Spivey; and sister, Susan Spivey. He was an information technology coordinator and served our country in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed cooking, working in the yard, and a trail angel by taking food to the hikers. He attended First United Methodist Church of Franklin.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lynne Newton Spivey; son, Stephen Spivey of Athens, GA; daughter, Laura Pryor (Robert) of Tallahassee, FL; and three grandchildren, Lila, Kaleb, and Marley.
A celebration of life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, August 26, at Macon Funeral Home. Pastor David Beam will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Franklin, 66 Harrison Ave, Franklin, NC 28734.
