Robert "Bob" Broughton, 64, of Franklin, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015.
Born in Kenosha, WI, he was the son of Dorothy Broughton and the late George E. Broughton. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece, Amy Hoagland Cook. He was a talented artist; woodcrafter, jewelry crafter, wire crafter and was a talented tattoo artist for 9 years. Bob enjoyed lapidary work, ruby mining and stamp collecting. He was a member of the Coin Collectors Guild and was an auto body technician.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Georgia Broughton who he met in the Civil Air Patrol; daughter, Coleen Bumgarner and husband, Mikey of Sylva; brother, George Broughton of California; three sisters, Merry Broughton of Franklin, Cheryl Broughton and husband Mickey Smith of Belton, TX and Nancy Hoagland and husband Michael of Franklin; four grandchildren, Tyresse Weeks, Paisley Weeks, Jack Bumgarner and Bailey Bumgarner; and niece and nephew, Holly and Mike and many other nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, at Macon Funeral Home.
