Phyllis Moses Fisher, 92, of Annandale, Virgina, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
Phyllis was born in Franklin, NC, to the late Peter Nathan and Martha Taylor Moses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Fisher. Phyllis spent much of her life in Macon County until she moved to Virginia in 1996. She attended Temple B'nai Shalom in Fairfax County, VA. She was a beloved teacher, mother, and grandmother. Phyllis was an educator for 33 years at Gaston County Public Schools. She taught Fine Arts and English and has made a lasting impact on many of her former students. She was a beloved teacher, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Moses; brothers, George Moses (Margaret), Andrew Moses (Joanne); grandson, Peter Nathan Moses II; nephews, Wally, Byard, Tim, Tony Moses; and niece Cynthia.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 11th at 12pm in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cullasaja Fire Department, which protects our beloved mountains.
