Obituary
Phoebe Collier Hastings, age 71, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Mission Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born July 14, 1953 in Franklin to the late Roy J. Collier and Mary Greenwood Collier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Collier and sister, Linda Collier Campbell.
While she never had children of her own, Phoebe was a second mother to many. She loved and cared for numerous children in the community as well as her nieces and nephews.
She had a gift for crafts and found enjoyment in making things beautiful.
Phoebe is survived by her husband of 30 years, Mark Hastings; Mark's daughter whom she loved as her own, Katie Harkins (Britton); three grandchildren, Nova Harkins, Mackenzie Davis, and Ira Harkins; two sisters, Mildred Broad and Marilyn Roper; two brothers, Duane Collier (Carolyn) and Doug Welch (Irene); and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Phoebe's life will take place at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home with Reverend Davis Hooper officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
