Peggy "Peg" Butler Mills, 91, of Franklin NC, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Peg was born in Rocky Mt, NC to the late Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Marks Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy W. Mills; son, Billy Mills; brother, Arthur Butler Jr.; and sister, Evelyn Arnold. She was a member of First Baptist and attended First Alliance, she taught Sunday School for many years. A graduate of Norfolk general School of Practical Nursing, and worked at Oak Hill Convalescent, Bayside, and Angel Hospitals. She loved to garden, sew, and read. She volunteered for the civil defense and Red Cross.

She is survived by her son, James Mills (Pat) of Roosevelt, NJ; daughter, Patsy Lent (James) of Ocala, FL; daughter-in-law, Sally Mills of Mechanicsville, VA; sisters, Nadine Joiner, and Sue Turner both of Rocky Mt, NC; four grandchildren, Jake, Elizabeth, Kristen, Jimmy; two great grandchildren, Daniel, and James.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 15th at 11am, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Fred Alexander will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gideon Bibles or the charity of one's choice.
