Peggy Louise Kirkland, 81, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024.

Peggy was born in Glennville GA, to the late C.N. Long Sr. and Kate Branch Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kirkland; siblings, Rick Long, Tim Long, Anne Harris, Margaret Barlow, C.N. Long Jr., and Fay Schultz.

She was Miss Auburndale Florida in 1960 and retired from Bank of America and moved to Franklin 17 years ago. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. She and her husband were big motorcycle enthusiasts and once rode from Winter Haven, Fl to Las Vegas. She loved to dance, sit on the deck watching the deer, and go for jeep rides. She loved her family and came from a large family of 10 kids.

She is survived by 2 sons, Buster Marrall (Krissy), Greg Marrall; stepchildren, Matt Kirkland (Kim), Randy Kirkland, Betsy Kirkland, Lisa Kirkland; grandchildren, Katie Connor, Justin Marrall, Katy Carnicle, Devon Marrall, Jake Marrall, Demi Marrall, Madelyn Moncus, Trey Moncus, Mindy Kirkland, Meghan Kirkland, Cory Kirkland, Steven Rooney, Tommy Rooney; siblings, Gaynell Locke, Johnny Long, Linda Castro; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 3rd at 4pm at Holly Springs Baptist Church.
