Carolyn "Olene" Nail Gibbs, 88, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Born in Plant City, Florida. Carolyn was the daughter of the late Effigy Warren and Mary Ella Fletcher Nail. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fulton Rudolph Gibbs; two brothers, Buddy Nail and Hollis Nail; and two sisters, Nelda Woodard and Alavene Goss. While most people will remember her as Olene, her family will lovingly remember calling her "Nana". She was a Florist for many years and later worked with her husband keeping books. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and loved to go camping, fishing, and playing the piano. Olene had a sense of adventure and even rafted the Chatooga River a few years ago. She was a member of Wells Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her four children, Gail Kirchman (J.C.) of Franklin, Pam LiBasci (Gary) of Franklin, Sherla Dixon (Rev. Terry) of Franklin, and Frank Gibbs (Darlene) of Lake Placid, FL; a brother, Keith Nail of Plant City, FL; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, January 7, at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Dixon and Rev. Davis Hooper will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery. In honoring Mrs. Gibbs love of the color red, the family request attendees to wear red or bright colors to her funeral.

Pallbearers will be Eric LiBasci, Jeremy LiBasci, Nathan LiBasci, Matthew Dixon, Jimmy Kirchman, Doug Kirchman, Scott Kirchman, Evan Gibbs, Barrett Gibbs, and Austin Gibbs.
