Odell James Bolick, 91, of Franklin, NC, closed his eyes and opened them in the Glory of God on Monday, December 29, 2025. A lifelong resident of Macon County, he was a devoted member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.
Born to the late Carl and Eva Rogers Bolick, Odell built a life marked by faith, family, and hard work. He served as a foreman for Nantahala Power in Bryson City and dedicated many years to his church as both a deacon and choir director—roles he fulfilled with a servant’s heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Dorothy Arnold Bolick.
Odell is survived by his loving wife, Helen Bishop Bolick; his son, James Allen Bolick (Margaret); two grandchildren, Alison Reagan and Landon Younce; and two great-great-grandchildren, Courtney Fain and Cody Reagan. He is also survived by his siblings, Annalee Massagee, Bobby Bolick, and Marvin Bolick; along with numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3rd, from 12-1 pm at Macon Funeral Home. A service will follow in the Chapel, with Rev. Jamie Passmore officiating. Burial will take place at Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
