O.C. Hood, of Franklin, North Carolina, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, at the age of 74, while residing at Macon Valley Nursing Home.
His life was one of utter commitment to God. He had an extraordinary mind which remained to the end. O.C. had a keen interest in the Civil War that taught him what it meant to be a good soldier. This helped him to endure the isolation and excruciating pain he faced daily for a decade.
As his wife of almost fifty-two years, I know he would want to be remembered most for his devotion to God, his love of the truth of God's Word, and his steadfast spirit in the face of pain and helplessness.
Deep heartfelt thanks go to all those at Macon Valley and Four Seasons Hospice for their dedicated care of O.C. which helped him through the last year of his life. Sincere gratitude also goes to all those who prayed for both O.C. and me throughout the ten years of his affliction.
Other surviving family members are his wife, Carol Hood; brother, Russell and wife, Maureen; his sister, Missy; his nephew, Nathanael; his niece, Naomi and her children.
A private graveside service will be held.
