Nell Scruggs Gibson, 90, of Franklin, NC, went to be with Jesus on Monday, December 23, 2024.

Nell was born in Haywood County to the late Charles and Grace Bryson Scruggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Andrew Gibson; grandson, Jonathan Alan Gibson; siblings, James Scruggs, Carl Scruggs, Virginia Scruggs, and Charles Scruggs.

She was a retired teller from Northwestern Bank. She attended Iotla Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved quilting, reading, flowers, and cooking. But her favorite pastime was spending time with family, especially her grandsons and great grandsons, who referred to her as "Mama Nell".

She is survived by her children, Andy Gibson (Ruthie), Mark Gibson; grandson, Joey Gibson (Becky); great grandchildren, Jonathan Alan Gibson Jr, Sylas Rhett Gibson; granddaughter in law, Nina Gibson; sister, Ann Kinsland; and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside will be held at Snow Hill Church.
