Mona "Nanny" Henson, 84, of Franklin, NC passed away on August 17, 2024.
She was born on December 29, 1939, in Haywood County, North Carolina to the late Reverend Albert and Mildred Robinson. She worked with the Contel company for thirty years as a switchboard operator in customer service. She was a member of Cartoogechaye Baptist Church. She had a love for Jesus and her family. Nanny was a sassy and passionate person to those that knew her. She loved to cut up and have fun with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, Nanny, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family especially enjoyed her cooking! She was a dog and animal lover as well. Nanny loved to sew, draw, and was a creative soul. Kim, her daughter ran home daycare in Franklin for twenty-six years. A lot of those years were at Nanny and Pappy's house. Nanny loved helping care for all the babies. She was everyone's Nanny!
She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Loy (Bryan); one son, Phillip Henson; four grandchildren, Dusty Dills (John), Tyler Reese-Cruse (Brady), Ally Dills, Jessica Loy (Blake), and Shawn Cruse (Mady); two great grandchildren, Sierra and Nora Loy; two brothers, Daniel Robinson (Lolly) and Samuel Robinson (Gerry); a special friend, Alice Henson and a special roommate, Irene Farley.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband Carl "Pappy" Henson; three siblings, Louise Williams, Joe Robinson, and Wendell Robinson.
The family would like to thank the loving staff at Grandview Manor for their care.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 6:00pm, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, prior to the service.
