Michael Anthony Prodoehl, Sr., age 65, passed away peacefully at his residence in Franklin, North Carolina, on September 25, 2025. Born on July 9, 1960, Michael spent the last 15+ years of his life in Franklin, where he became a cherished member of the community. Most importantly, Michael died a saved man, having accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
He dedicated much of his career as a surveyor for the State of Florida, a role that reflected his love for the outdoors and his strong work ethic. He was a man of many passions—an avid fisherman and hunter, a motorcycle enthusiast, and a master of the grill who found joy in BBQing for family and friends. His deep affection for dogs was clear to all who knew him. He leaves behind his most recent companions, Karma and Slinger, who were truly part of his family.
Michael never met a stranger and loved being around people. With his quick wit and humor, he could always make you laugh and brighten your day.
In Franklin, Michael was a familiar face at VFW Post 7339, where he worked for several years and built lasting friendships. He was known for his warm spirit, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, John Andrew Prodoehl, and his sister, Bonnie Schaffer.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Marsiglia; his three children, Christina "Nina" Prince (Jeremy), Susan Prodoehl, and Michael "Mikey" A. Prodoehl, Jr. (Alyssa); his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Prodoehl; and four grandchildren—Mackenzie, Morgyn, Noah, and Addison—who will carry forward his legacy with love and pride.
A gathering of family and friends to honor Michael's life will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Macon Funeral Home in Franklin, NC.
