Mary L. Taylor passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024- two weeks shy of her 87th birthday.

Mary was born in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Elmer William Griscom and Ruth Tanner Heal Griscom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Miles Taylor; and brother, David Griscom.

She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed cooking for pot luck meals. Mary remained active while her health allowed- whether it was swimming at Franklin Health and Fitness, travelling all over the country, volunteering at the AARC Thrift Store, or simply meeting friends every Friday to play cards or bingo. She will be remembered for her tenacious spirit, her smile, and her laughter.

Mary will also be remembered by the community for the care and love she devoted to disabled adults through Southwest Community College.

Survivors include her three children, Jim David Taylor, Amy Beth Pennington (Chuck), and Michael Dale Taylor (Kathy DiDonato); six grandchildren, Sondra Warburton (Keith), Matt Pennington (Samantha), Chrissy Mayefske (Luke), Candace Conner (Mark), Travis Taylor (Mae Lee), and Katlyn Stone (Steven); ten great grandchildren; and sisters, Gina Doran (Edward) and Liza Davies.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday September 4, 2024 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Her pastor, Reverend Tom Jordan will officiate. Interment will follow in Rush Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.
