Mary Ella Mashburn, 75, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Ellis and Annie Cloer Ledford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James David Mashburn, Sr; son, James David Mashburn, Jr.; and a sister, Rebecca Shuler. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed reading and watching football, especially her Denver Broncos.

She is survived by her son, Prof. Ricky David Mashburn, Sr., PHMS, of Franklin; two sisters, Frankie Mashburn (Marvin) of Franklin, and Linda Tope of Orion, MI; and four grandchildren, Ricky "David" Mashburn, Jr., Preston Lee Mashburn, Destiny Kianna Mashburn, and Arianna "Faith" Mashburn Alvarez-Chavez; In-laws, Martha Bates (Chuck), and Betty Williams (Jim). Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

The funeral will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 10, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. The Revs. Guy Duvall, Tommy Fouts, Bobby Cloer, and Gary McDaniel will officiate. Burial will be in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm, one hour prior to the service at the church.

The pallbearers will be David Mashburn, Destiny Mashburn, Preston Mashburn, Marty Mashburn, Miguel Alvarez-Chavez, Lyndon Ashe, Trevor Ashe, and Johnny Cloer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Ashe and Faith Alvarez-Chavez.
