Marie Holt Ledford, 65, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2024, after a battle with lung cancer.

Marie was a Franklin native who loved Elvis, reading, gardening, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She made friends wherever she went, but particularly at her jobs over the years at places like Walmart, Smokey Mountain Healthcare Associates, Chicago Rawhide, Bassett Walker, Belden, and Blue Bell.

Marie was preceded in death by her soul mate and husband of 43 years, David Ledford, and her parents, Jim Holt and Florence Mason Holt.

Marie is survived by her two children Randy Ledford (Amanda) of Franklin and Becki Ledford Richard (Kevin) of Asheville, and grandchildren Haylee Ledford, Lane Ledford, Kyndall Ledford, and DJ Ledford Richard. Marie is also survived by her brother, Joe Holt, and sister, Melissa Bryant, (Rodney), as well many close friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and siblings-in-law who loved her like their own sister.

A memorial service will be held at Coweeta Baptist Church, where Marie attended, on Saturday, June 29. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm with the service to follow at 4pm, officiated by Reverend Keith Ashe and Reverend David Hastings.
