Marie (Toots) Dowdle Brabson, in the early morning hours on September 4, 2026, at the age of 81, left her earthly home to meet her Lord and Savior.
Born on April 14, 1945, in Macon County to the late Plenny and Launa Norris Dowdle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 1/2 years, Bobby Brabson. Also, preceding Marie was a granddaughter Sarah Bradshaw, and several of her brothers and sisters.
She was a perfect example of a Mother, Nannie, sister and friend. She was known for unconditional love for her family. She was quiet yet bold when she needed to be. She always went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. She was an amazing Momma, Nannie, and cook. Toots was a longtime member of Coweeta Baptist Church.

Marie is survived by her children; Deb Adams, Daniel Brabson and Carol Ann Sheffield (Eddie). Grandchildren; Lisa McCrackin (Kevin), Jack Bradshaw (Lisa), Josie Brabson (Kelly), Hayden Brabson, Kelsey Elders (Ryan), and Lauren Harrell (Evan). As well as seven great grandchildren Also surviving are sisters, Louise Williamson (Bill), Pauline Stiwinter, brothers in law, Roy Chastain and Ray Goforth, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening September 8, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Macon Funeral Home. The Rev. Davis Hooper and Rev. Keith Ashe will officiate. Burial will follow at Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be; Greg Bell, Ryan Elders, Hayden Brabson, Jamie Chastain, Michael Chastain, and Kenny Chastain.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
