Marcie was born August 8, 2023, at 8:25am. The doctors immediately began tests in the NICU and discovered her veins were very small, which made any of the planned surgeries questionable. She then moved to the cardiac ICU with further tests. Those tests revealed her lungs were extremely damaged due to the lack of heart development and use over the past few months. The morning of August 9, 2023, they discovered her organs began shutting down. By this point, the surgeons decided the veins were too small to make the surgery an option; combined with the remaining complications, they felt there was nothing else that could be done for her and advised we let her go. We had a final family prayer service at 3pm and disconnected the machines at 4pm. We waited to see what God wanted to do and HE decided to take her home. Christie and I got to be with her until the very end and cherished every moment. Marcie was a true servant of God that taught all of us the largest lesson on faith that we've ever learned. We appreciate your prayers and support very much. Emotions come and go, but the peace of God surpasses all understanding, and we are amazed and thankful for his peace.
