Lyman McCarty Robinson, 88, of Franklin, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late Lyman Houston Robinson and Myrtice Morris Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pollye Wilson Robinson and his brother, James V. Robinson.

Lyman proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. A talented musician, he was an avid drummer who enjoyed playing with country and western bands throughout his life. He also loved spending time on the golf course and was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs.

Above all, Lyman cherished his family. He is survived by his children, Lyman M. Robinson Jr. (Wendy), Jenny R. Smith (Warren), Michael S. Robinson (Catherine), Joseph P. Robinson (Sharon), Chuck Kribbs (Sharon), Keith Azariah-Kribbs (Dora), and Kim Kribbs. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom will treasure his memory and the legacy of love he leaves behind.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 21, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Macon Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home.

Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, Tennessee.

Lyman will be remembered for his service to his country, his love of music and sports, and the joy he brought to family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
