Lois Stockton Ledford, 93, of Franklin, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was a lifelong residence of Macon County, born to the late Ervin and Bertha Carpenter Stockton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 63 years, Reverend Charles Ledford; infant son, William Ernest Ledford; sister, Vaughn Sanders; and a son-in law, Jerry Miller. Lois was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and lived in the Skeenah community all of her life. She loved sewing, reading, solving crossword and word search puzzles. In her later years she loved working for the Older American Program through the US Forest Service. Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all, but she is at peace and free from her earthly bonds.
She is survived by her children, Charles "Chuck" Ledford (Kathy) of Clayton, GA, Sandra Miller of Lancaster, SC, Karen Biddix (Don) of Sylva, NC, Diane Shields (Allan) of Franklin, Floyd Ledford (Kim) of Franklin; ten grandchildren, Chris Ledford (Molly), Jeff Keener, Robbie Miller (Marian), Brandon Miller, Angie Shook (Roy), Donna Cogdill (Chip), Becky Bryson (Joey), Crystal Anders, Daniel Shields (Shea), Emily Parris (Adam); eighteen great grandchildren, Danielle, Zane, Christopher, Jacob, Keith, Natasha, Toby, Andrew, Trevor, Paige, Trenton, Katelyn, Trinity, Elijah, Isaiah, Olivia, Max, Nora; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held Monday, November 17th, at Woodlawn Cemetery at 3 pm. Rev. Aaron Bridges will officiate.
The family would like to thank Sandra Shepherd, Connie Hall, Joey Gibson, The Community Care Team, and the Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers, for all their kindness, care, love, and support.
