Leonard Jones, 89, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late John Colon and Alice Powers Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Jones; and three siblings, Colon, Kenneth, and Elsie. Mr. Jones served in the United States Marine Corps and retired as Postmaster with 40 years of service with the US Postal Service. He was a wood craftsman and enjoyed working on Intarsia ship models. He was a member of Prentiss Church of God.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlene Beck Jones; son, Scott Jones (Lisa) of Plant City, FL; daughter, Stacey Khork (James) of Mulberry, FL; sister, Alice Bodenan of Conyers, GA; eight grandchildren, Joey Jones, David Jones, Caleb Jones, Emily Hannon, Michelle Jones, Mark Jones, Taylor Berry and Zachary Berry; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral service will be 1pm on Monday, June 5, 2023, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. JD Woodside will officiate. Burial will be in the Addington Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 108 and American Legion Post 7339.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
