Obituary

Larry Coleman Sheffield, 75, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born in Macon County to the late Grover and Hassie Clark on November 10, 1950.

Larry was a native of Macon County. He spent his whole life farming and was an excellent cattleman. In addition, he spent fifty-one years operating his own construction company. He was of the Methodist Faith. One of his favorite activities was deer hunting. He loved to be in nature and found his solitude and time with God there. One of his favorite trips was when he traveled to Africa on a hunting trip. He would tell many stories about this adventure. His family also talked about what a good cook he was and how he liked to aggravate them for fun. He loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his nieces, nephews, daughter, and granddaughter.

He is survived by one daughter, Elena Reisner (Dan); one granddaughter, Emmie Reisner; five brothers and sisters, Clark Sheffield, Wayne Sheffield (Ethel), Glenda Peek, Peggy Reece, and Kim Sheffield (Freda); his best friend, Steve Kimsey and a special friend Donna Holmquist and many special cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Grover Bufford Sheffield Jr. and Carol Sheffield, infant son; two sisters in law, Faye Sheffield and Evelyn Sheffield; two brothers in law Sterling Peek and L.C. Reece,

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, at 2:00pm at the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Reverend Steve Miller will officiate.
