Clarence "Larry" George Chase, 83, of Franklin, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, December 17, after a period of declining health.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Clarence and Margaret Gaydos Chase.

Larry was a proud graduate of the University of Miami, and was a longtime supporter of their athletic programs. In addition to watching Canes games, Larry loved being on a boat in any body of water, or on his tractor in the mountains of North Carolina. Always toasting to 'Faster Horses…"

Larry was the President of Frank J, Rooney Construction before leaving to start his own company in the 1980's. C.G. Chase Construction Company contributed to the ever-growing skyline of Miami as well as several project at the Port of Miami.
He is survived by his two children, Jason J. Chase (Linda) of Palmetto Bay, FL, and Jessica J. Chase of Franklin, NC; one sister, Jackie Romanski of Texas; and three grandsons, Jasper, Hunter, and Logan.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
