Lana G Hires, age 83, of Franklin, N.C. finished her fight and went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, her son Walter Colan Hires Jr., his wife Amanda Johnson Hires, and a great care giver and friend in Wayne Day. Known for her strength, independent personality, and unwavering love and support for family and friends. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who prioritized her family and friends above all else!

Born on July 31, 1942, in Franklin, N.C. She is survived by her son Walter Colan Hires Jr. (Amanda Johnson Hires, wife), grandson, Colton Jack Hires; two sisters, Betty Acord, Carol Pollock; and several nieces and nephews.

As she approaches the Pearly gates of Heaven and Saint Peter asks, how are you doing Lana? She will reply "Fat and Sassy and mean as a striped eyed snake"! When Saint Peter questions her response, she will say "Look into these brown eyes"! Go with God Mom, We love you! Forever in our hearts!
