Keri Vephula was born January 27, 1966, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital to Linda and the late Dang Vephula. She left us and went to heaven May 29, 2025. She had actually looked forward to this day because she would meet her dad, who died a month before she was born.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. Chumlong and Sumneing Vephula of Thailand and Stella Whitmon and Ozzie Whitmon.
She has an uncle, Smerjai (moo) Vephula of Thailand, and a step sister Shelly Herman and step brother Kyle Herman and his wife Hannah of Tallahassee.
She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, living with her mother and graduated from Peachtree High School. She attended Georgia Southern College, the University of Georgia and graduated from West Georgia College in 1993 with her bachelor's degree in Psychology.
She was previously married to Brian Stewart, and has one daughter, Satori Stewart, of Acworth, Georgia.
She moved to Franklin in 1998 and lived with her mother and her husband, Mark Herman. She studied and was certified as a massage therapist, and she knew the body well and could intuit where you hurt.
She enjoyed her crafts including painting and jewelry recycling, but always had her TV tuned in to the Christian Broadcasting Network, 24/7.
Though she was a "troubled" gal, she would give you the shirt off her back, and even take food to struggling friends.
A memorial service will be held at Macon Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 4 at 2pm.
