Karen Elaine Young, 63, of Franklin, NC, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Karen was born in Haywood Co. to Jerry and Betty Wyatt Young. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry. She was a member of Ellijay Missionary Baptist Church.

She worked in the front office at the physical therapy clinics in Franklin. She was always kind and helpful to everyone she met. She was very creative and she had a vision for her life. Her sense of humor always made her a joy to be around. She made lots of friends and she will be missed.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Young; sisters, Sherry Brisendine (Eric), Kimberly Self; nephew, Matthew Brisendine; nieces, Victoria Zarnow (Addison), Emily Self, and MacKenzie Bell (Josh).

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 29th, at 1pm at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Potts will officiate.
