Judy Maynard Passafume, 80, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at Autumn Care of Waynesville. Born on October 6, 1945, she was the beloved daughter of Mr. Willie Maynard and Mrs. Hazel McDole Maynard.

Judy dedicated 20 years of compassionate service as a nurse with Orange County Corrections, where her care and strength touched many lives. Her passion for history and beauty led her to open her cherished antique shop, Somewhere in Time. She couldn't wait to share with her son Michael and her best friend Candy her thrift store treasures.

She found joy in the simple pleasures—browsing thrift shops, basking in the serenity of the beach, and embracing the majesty of her beloved Smoky Mountains. Above all, Judy loved her family and friends deeply and unconditionally.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Mildred Black and Rachel Arndt, and her brother George Maynard.

Judy is survived by her children, Michael Passafume, Jr. and Kellie Brown; her sisters, Wanda Maynard and Patty Elliott; and her grandchildren, Brandon Brown and Lily Passafume.

At this time, no formal services are planned for Mrs. Passafume.
