Franklin, NC: Jose Antonio Lamas, 89, passed away February 7, 2023. Jose was born in Santiago de Cuba to the late Jose A. Lamas Sr., and Esther Salmon Lamas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rodolfo A. Lamas. In 1955, Jose arrived in the United States and settled in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He enlisted in the US Airforce and served from 1957-1961. Jose earned his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Norwalk Technical College. He was employed as a Flight Test Engineer by Avco Lycoming, in Stratford, Connecticut. Jose was an accomplished wood worker and wood carver; he loved spending time in his workshop. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ana Bahr Lamas, Son Fernando A. Lamas, (wife)Karen Dube Lamas, his three remarkable Grandchildren, Daniel Lamas, Emily Ann Lamas, and Matthew Lamas. Sisters, Ermila Lamas Noa, (husband) Orlando Noa Sr., Mili & Teri Lamas Nephews, Orlando Noa Jr., Alex Noa and Renier Canabate. Nieces, Natalie Lamas Leon, Vanessa Lamas Cruz.
