Obituary
Jonathan Alan Gibson, Sr. 38, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
Jonathan was born in Macon County, the son of Joseph Andrew "Andy" Gibson and Ruth Coir Gibson. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Gibson; and grandparents, Herman and Burdell Holbrook Coir. In addition to his parents, both of Franklin, he is survived by his wife, Nina Woodard Gibson; son, Jonathan Alan Gibson, Jr; brother, Joey Gibson (Becky); nephew, Sylas Gibson, grandmother, Nell Gibson; uncle, Mark Gibson, all of Franklin, and aunt, Ann Kinsland, of Canton, NC.
Jon was a member of Iotla Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering on small engines. He was also a skilled gunsmith.
A graveside service will be at 11am on Saturday, November 25 in the Shepherd Memorial cemetery. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.
