Obituary

John David Martin, 67, of Franklin, formerly of Raleigh and eastern North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2024. He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on January 11, 1957, to the late Charles and Gladys Martin.

He loved the Lord and was of the Church of God faith. He was a loving husband, brother, and friend. He had a great sense of humor and loved to cut up with those around him. John grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Western Carolina University after graduating High School. He moved to the mountains of North Carolina after meeting his wife and getting married in 2011. John enjoyed a successful career in the insurance and financial services industry and enjoyed attending business and insurance seminars. He loved to engage with people whether while doing business or at church. He was genuine and wanted to help people. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Martin; four brothers, Daniel Martin (Susan), Steven Martin (Donna), Phillip Martin, Dennis Martin, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by three sisters, Ester Martin, Deborah Sue Martin and Bonnie Martin.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00pm, at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 3901 Forest Lawn Drive, Greensboro, NC 27455.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Heritage Foundation, 214 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington, D.C. 20002-4999.
