Obituary
Joel David Medford Sr., 86, of Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Joel was born in Waynesville, NC to the late William Ernest and Geneva Burr Medford. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alma "Kathy" Frady Medford, two brothers, James and Jerry Medford. He was a member of Cowee Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and Junaluska Lodge.
He is survived by his three sons, Joel David Medford Jr. of Dallas, TX, Duane Medford of Franklin, Darren Medford of Auburn, AL; three grandchildren, Ashlee Thornton (Clayton), Anna Smith (Ryan), Noah Medford (Leah) all of Dothan, AL; six great grandchildren, Jordan Seagers, Henry Seagers, Carter Mason, Norah Thornton, Graham and Wyatt Medford, all of Dothan, AL; a brother, Jackie Medford of Lake Glenville; sister in law, Freda Medford of Waynesville, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, November 26th at 3pm at Cowee Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm.
