JoAnn Haas Miles (NaNNaN), 84, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Angel Medical Center, in Franklin, NC, with her loving family by her side. A native of Gastonia and the daughter of the late Carl and Ruby Haas.

It was once said that "all people die but not all people live." JoAnn (NanNan) truly lived! She lived a long, beautiful life and loved living. With the heart of a lion and sheer determination she was triumphant over so many obstacles.

She was hesitant about her transition, torn between leaving her boys and joining her oldest son, her parents, and her siblings who she missed dearly. Family meant EVERYTHING to NaNNaN! And her family didn't always mean blood. She only had 3 sons, 3 grands, and 1 great grandchild, but she'd be the 1st to tell you about all the kids she raised. JoAnn will be missed by so many, but her legacy will live on forever in all the lives she has touched.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Sunday, February 23rd at Macon Funeral Home in Franklin, NC. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 2 pm.
