Obituary

Jimmy E. Shook, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026.

Born on August 31, 1941, in Franklin, North Carolina, Jimmy was the son of the late Ezra and LaVerne Shook. He lived a life filled with hard work, devotion to his family and a passion for anything with an engine. Whether attending car shows, admiring classic automobiles, or enjoying the sound of a well-tuned motor, Jimmy found great joy in all things mechanical. He

could often be seen driving his beloved 1932 Plymouth around town, proudly sharing his love of classic automobiles with friends and neighbors. His enthusiasm, knowledge and love for cars were well known to those who knew him.

A longtime member of Holly Springs Baptist Church, Jimmy's faith was an important part of his life. He valued the fellowship of his church family and the comfort and guidance his faith provided throughout the years.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Betty Ruth Shook; and his sisters, Joyce Deitz and Doris Teague.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Shook; his daughter, Teresa Wilson (Kelly); his sons, John Shook (Sonya) and Jeff Shook; his brother, Furman Shook (Dixie); and his sisters, Carolyn Cabe (Frank) and Linda Crunkleton (Dennis).

Jimmy also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Chandler Shook, Roman Shook, Reagan Crumley (David), Mallory Wilson and Juston Shook; his great-grandson, Maverick Shook; and several loving nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

Jimmy will be remembered for his love of family, his appreciation for classic cars, his sense of humor and the countless memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Jimmy's family finds great comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of Jesus. They are grateful for the many years of love, laughter and memories they shared with him and take solace in the promise of being reunited with him one day.

Though he is gone from this earthly life, the memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 20th, at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ben Heise will officiate.
