Obituary

Jeremy Chad Angel was born to Larry and Brenda Angel on August 27, 1976, in Macon County, North Carolina. He grew up in the Cullasaja community, attended Cullasaja Elementary, and was a member of Cullasaja Assembly of God. Jeremy's curiosity and fearlessness sometimes got him into interesting situations. At an early age, he was zooming through the kitchen in his walker and out the door, which led to his first trip to the ER - there were many to follow.

Jeremy graduated from Franklin High School in 1994 and pursued a degree in Business Management from Western Carolina University. While attending school full-time, he worked almost forty hours a week mowing lawns, detailing cars, helping his dad in the electrical trade, and working at an electrical warehouse. After college graduation, Jeremy knew he wanted to be an outside sales rep and achieved that goal. He was in electrical outside sales for twenty-five years when he was offered a promotion to Branch Manager of City Electric Supply. Jeremy grew the CES Franklin branch due to his understanding of the electrical trade from both sides of the counter.

Family was everything to Jeremy. After work, he would stop by his Dad's house to unwind and catch up on the day. Jeremy married the love of his life, Jennifer Lynn Hardister Angel a year after they graduated from Western Carolina University. They built a beautiful life together. A little over a year after they were married, they had a son, Phillip Angel, and two years later, a daughter, Hannah Angel. He was the best husband and father. He adored his children and loved participating in their activities, from cheering them on to being actively involved. Jeremy was incredibly proud of Phillip and Hannah…their values, heart for others, work ethic, and accomplishments. His family was his joy. There aren't enough words to express Jeremy's impact and influence on his family.

To many, he was known as "Jer-o". He valued time with all his friends, from cookouts to riding four-wheelers and motorcycles, working on projects, hanging out at the shop, and going to ball games, car shows, and drag races. Jeremy loved all genres of music; he would jam out with his friends and play music for hours. He was a drummer but also played the guitar and bass. His love for drums began as a toddler. When he was three, he constantly banged on pots and pans until His Aunt Gina and Uncle Jim purchased his first drum set. He was listening to music when he wasn't playing music at church or with a band over the years. Music was his solace.

Jeremy unexpectedly went Home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2024, at age 48, after months of battling an illness that took away his ability to do so much. But through it all, he clung to his faith in Jesus his love for his family and friends, and he worked. He fought hard until the very end. The hole left by his absence is impossible to fill, but we know we will see him again and take comfort that Jeremy is with Jesus and no longer in any pain.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Angel; his children, Phillip Angel, and Hannah Angel; his father, Larry Angel; his aunt, Regina Bell (Jim); his aunt, Carlene Hunnicutt (James); his mother-in-law, Pat Hardister; his sister-in-law Amy Hardister; his cousins Kimberly Bell Green (Mark), Angela Hunnicutt, and John Eric Hunnicutt; great aunt Willa Mae Gregory.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Angel; paternal grandparents, Carl B Angel, and Sarah Belle Angel; maternal grandparents, Milles Gregory and Mildred Gregory; and many other beloved family members and friends.
