Obituary

Jean Williams, age 95, of Franklin, NC, went home to be with the Jesus on Thursday July 25, 2024.

She moved to Franklin in 1980 from West Palm Beach, Florida. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she worked with Care Ministries and Children's Church. She took meals to the shut-ins every Wednesday night before Prayer Meeting.

She wrote and published two books; "I walked where Jesus walked" and "Gone to be with Jesus". She was formerly an officer at First National Bank of Palm Beach, and a Real Estate broker in Florida.

She was past President of Angel Hospital Medical Center Auxiliary where she worked all the blood drives and fund raisers. She volunteered over 17,500 hours of service and WLOS channel 13 honored her as their "Gift Hero" volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Williams of 45 years. She is survived by one son, Donald L. Williams and wife Debra of Cleveland, TN; one daughter, Jo Ann Phillips and husband Clyde of Franklin, NC; and five grandsons; Jonathan Phillips and wife Maggie of Franklin, Matthew Phillips of Franklin, Donald Williams Jr. and wife Barbara of Gainesville, FL, Clint Williams of Gainesville, FL, Clayton Williams and wife Becca of Louisville, KY. She has four great grandchildren: Clay Phillips, Savannah Birchard (Leighton), Madison Williams, Sebastian Williams, Ava Williams, and Mia Williams.

Family will receive friends at Pine Grove Baptist Church on the Highlands Rd for viewing on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. Funeral Services will be held at the church at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Greg Rogers. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery beside her husband, Don.

Jean loved helping others; volunteered at church, the hospital and at nursing homes. She was blessed working with Hospice, where she was with over 200 end of life patients. She said she learned that the secret of being happy was doing things for other people. She said when she helped other people, she was the one receiving the blessing.

Jean said that her family was her greatest joy in life. She loved Jesus, spreading Gods work, helping others and was a true "Prayer Warrior".

She will take her place among the angels in heaven with her husband Don, mother, and father.

Mother dearest, go rest in peace in heaven, where the roses never fade and there is no more pain and suffering, only happiness and joy. We love you and miss you mom.
