Jean H. Porter, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at Harris Regional Hospital. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Jean spent her early years in Baltimore before embarking on a life filled with adventure, creativity, and deep devotion to family.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Ralph and Virgil Bankert Rohler, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Lee G. Porter (1994); her daughter, Debbie Pierson; son-in-law, Rusty Pierson; her sister, Gale Lengrand and son-in-law, Tom Whitworth; and her parents.

Jean is lovingly remembered by her children: Bonnie Freeman (Danny), Patti Whitworth, and Kenny Porter (Lisa); her sister, Kay Nead (Jim); sister-in-law, Nancy Stokes; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and 4 nephews.

Lee's career with Martin Marietta led the couple on their life's journey to Orlando in 1957, where he worked for the company. In 1977, his role took them overseas to Germany, where they spent 13 memorable years before returning to Orlando. Eventually, they made their home in Macon County, North Carolina, where Jean enjoyed 32 peaceful years of retirement.

Jean was a vibrant soul with a passion for painting her artistry flourished in watercolor, oil, and acrylics. She found joy in decorating her home for every holiday and special occasion and never missed a chance to indulge in a good shopping trip. Her warmth, creativity, and spirited nature touched all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Macon Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM until service time.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and in the beauty, she brought into the world.
